The sexual harassment of women at workplace (prevention,prohibition and redressal) act 2013
The sexual harassment of women at workplace (prevention, prohibition and redressal) act 2013 is an act to provide protection against sexual harassment of women at work place. Sexual harassment results in the violation of basic fundamental rights of women such as Right to equality under article 14,15 and her right to life and live with dignity under article 21 of the constitution of India.
Definition of Sexual Harassment:
Sexual harassment includes any one or more of the following unwelcome acts or behavior
- Physical contact and advances
- A demand or request for sexual favors
- Making sexually colored remarks
- Showing pornography
- Any unwelcome messages through telephone or internet
Functions:
The Internal Complaints Committee has two major functions: 1. Preventive 2. Remedial Preventive
To work towards creating an atmosphere promoting equality, non-discrimination and Gender sensitivity.
To promote and facilitate measures to create a work environment that is free of sexual harassment.
Remedial
To receive and take cognizance of complaints made about sexual harassment at the Institution and give every complaint serious consideration. Crisis Management, Mediation and Counselling To conduct enquiries into the complaints, place findings and recommendations regarding penalties against the harasser

Women Empowerment Committee
OBJECTIVES:
- To promote a culture of respect and equality for female gender.
- To help women students understand their strength and potential
- The provision of opportunities and programs for female gender to be benifical, mentally and emotionally empowered so as to promote their growth as individuals in their own right.
- To conduct seminar, workshop to impart knowledge of opportunities and tools available and train the women.
- To inculcate entrepreneurial attitude among young girls, scientists at the earliest so that they can be “job givers” rather than “job takers”.
- To empower female students, faculty, and staff through awareness of their legal rights.
- To establish a system for addressing complaints and resolving grievances effectively.
- To promote personal growth alongside academic advancement for female students.
- To bolster the self-respect and confidence of women students, faculty, and staff within the institution.
- To develop critical thinking ability of women students such that it enhances decision-making
- To enable the Institution community understand the role of everyone in empowering women students
